Israeli Airstrike Levels Building in Gaza, Over 100 Dead

An Israeli airstrike on a multistory residential building in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, has claimed the lives of at least 109 Palestinians, including many children, on Tuesday. The devastating attack left dozens more wounded and reduced homes to rubble, casting a shadow of despair over the local community.

CGTN’s stringer in Gaza visited the bombsite and spoke with residents who are grappling with the aftermath of the strike. Hassan Abu Al-Nasr, a nearby resident, recalled the horrifying moment when the airstrike hit. “The strike demolished homes,” he said. “Despite our efforts to rescue people and pull bodies from the rubble, three to four times as many bodies are still buried beneath it.”

The community is left in shock and mourning as rescue operations continue. The scale of the destruction has overwhelmed local resources, and many fear that the death toll will rise as more victims are found.

This tragic incident highlights the escalating violence in the region and its devastating impact on civilians, especially children. The residents of Beit Lahiya are calling for international attention and aid to help them cope with the loss and rebuild their lives.

As the world watches, the people of Gaza continue to hope for peace and an end to the violence that has plagued their lives for so long.
