“In the past, the integration of the Asia-Pacific was primarily driven by the United States, but this is changing,” Professor Huang observed. He highlighted how the regional landscape is shifting, with China playing a more significant role in shaping economic and political ties.
Discussing future U.S. policies toward China, Professor Huang suggested that the next administration might adopt a different approach. “It’s about strengthening your own capacity to compete with others rather than creating barriers for others to go further,” he said, emphasizing the importance of open competition and collaboration.
