Evacuation Warnings in Beirut as Lebanon Seeks Ceasefire with Israel

In the early hours of November 1, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued evacuation warnings to residents near five buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon’s capital. The IDF stated that these buildings are located near Hezbollah facilities targeted for imminent attack.

Residents have been urged to move at least 500 meters away from the areas to ensure their safety. This development intensifies the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed hope for a ceasefire with Israel. Speaking on October 30, as reported by Al Jazeera, Mikati said he aims to achieve a truce “in the next few hours or days.”

The conflict has heavily impacted Lebanon, with the death toll from Israeli attacks surpassing 2,850 since last October. As the situation remains volatile, the international community watches closely for any signs of de-escalation.

Civilians in affected areas are advised to stay informed and adhere to safety instructions from local authorities.
