Beijing Daxing International Airport has welcomed over 1 million foreign travelers in 2024, setting a new record for international entries and exits. This milestone was confirmed on Friday by the airport’s immigration inspection station.
The surge in foreign visitors comes after China introduced policies to make it easier for international travelers to enter the country. Notably, an increase in the number of countries with visa-free status has attracted people from around the world to explore China.
The airport’s international flight network is expanding rapidly. Currently, Beijing Daxing offers flights to 43 international and regional destinations across 25 countries and regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
During the upcoming winter-spring flight season, the airport plans to launch new routes to cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Vientiane, and Casablanca. There are also plans to initiate flights to Africa and North America and to increase flight frequencies to the Middle East and Russia, providing travelers with more international options.
Beijing Daxing is also one of nine ports approved by China’s National Immigration Administration to allow foreign nationals a 24-hour direct transit without border checks, further facilitating international travel.
