This year marks the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to China, and the city is blossoming into a hub of cultural diversity and opportunity. For Angolan student Meury Ferreira, Macao is more than just a city—it's a gateway to her future.
Studying for her master's in global public health at the University of Macau, Meury is captivated by the city's inclusive atmosphere. "As a foreigner, I find the educational environment in Macao to be very diverse. It is a very foreigner-friendly city," she shares.
Macao's growing economy and the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) are opening doors for young professionals like Meury. "The construction of the Greater Bay Area allows Macao the opportunity to invest in innovative technologies. I am considering working in Macao or the GBA in the future," she notes.
With its blend of cultures and burgeoning opportunities, Macao is attracting students from around the world, eager to be part of its dynamic growth. For Meury, the city's evolution aligns perfectly with her career aspirations, making it an ideal place to launch her future.
