Germany’s ski jumping superstar Katharina Schmid has claimed another victory, winning the women’s normal hill event at the Ski Jumping World Cup in Zhangjiakou.
The 28-year-old seven-time world champion continued her stellar start to the 2024/25 season. Competing on the Snow Ruyi hill, Schmid impressed audiences with her exceptional performance. Each athlete took two jumps, with the top 30 from the first round advancing to the second. Schmid secured the championship with a total score of 237.0 points.
This triumph marks her third individual World Cup podium finish of the season, following a first and second-place finish at the season opener in Lillehammer, Norway. As one of the most decorated skiers in ski jumping history, Schmid now boasts an impressive total of 17 individual World Cup wins.
