China Launches First Satellites for Internet Constellation

China has successfully launched the first group of satellites for its new internet constellation, marking a significant step in the nation’s space endeavors. On Monday evening at 6 p.m. Beijing Time, a Long March-5B carrier rocket took off from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province, carrying the satellites into low Earth orbit.

Equipped with a Yuanzheng-2 (Expedition-2) upper stage atop the rocket, the mission ensured the satellites reached their designated orbits. This advancement is part of China’s ambitious plan to build a global satellite internet network, aiming to provide faster and more reliable internet services worldwide.

The launch signifies the 552nd mission in the Long March series of carrier rockets, showcasing China’s growing capabilities in space technology. The successful deployment of these satellites not only enhances China’s space infrastructure but also promises to impact global connectivity positively.
