The China Coast Guard (CCG) confirmed on Tuesday that it monitored a Philippine civilian vessel delivering supplies to a grounded military ship at Ren’ai Jiao in the South China Sea.
CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun stated that, with China’s permission, the Philippines sent a civilian vessel last Thursday to supply its military ship at Ren’ai Jiao. The CCG verified the vessel’s activities and kept a close watch throughout the process.
“We hope the Philippine side will honor its commitments, work together with China, and jointly manage the maritime situation,” said Liu.
Liu emphasized that the CCG will continue its law enforcement activities to safeguard China’s rights in the Nansha Qundao (Spratly Islands) and surrounding waters, including Ren’ai Jiao.
