Chinese President Xi Jinping met with representatives from all walks of life in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Thursday afternoon. He expressed his appreciation for their contributions to Macao’s long-term prosperity and stability. Xi encouraged everyone to stay united and work together for even greater achievements in the region.
During his visit, Xi also met with heads of central government agencies and major mainland-funded companies operating in Macao. Senior officials, including Cai Qi, were present at these meetings. Notable attendees included Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Ho Hau Wah, current Macao SAR Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng, incoming Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai, and former Chief Executive Chui Sai On.
On Friday, President Xi will attend a gathering celebrating the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to China. The event will also feature the inauguration ceremony of the sixth-term government of the Macao SAR, marking a significant milestone in the region’s history.
