Yemen’s Houthi movement announced on Saturday that it had launched a ballistic missile targeting a “military site” in Israel’s central Jaffa area. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed earlier that several people were injured following a projectile launched from Yemen.
The strike, reaching deep into Israeli territory, marks a significant escalation in Middle Eastern tensions. The Houthis, aligned with Iran, have previously expressed solidarity with Palestinian groups amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The IDF stated that emergency services are responding to the incident, and investigations are underway to assess the extent of the damage and casualties.
International observers have expressed concern over the widening scope of regional conflicts, fearing such actions could further destabilize the already volatile situation.
