Leading public relations experts and artificial intelligence (AI) specialists gathered in Beijing on Saturday for the 2024 Conference of China Public Relations for Development. They exchanged insights on how the integration of AI and public relations can enhance social governance.
Guo Weiming, president of the China Public Relations Association (CPRA), highlighted the pivotal role of public relations in modernizing society. “Public relations, as both a management and communication discipline, is critical in advancing modernization efforts,” Guo stated. “By maximizing its unique advantages and integrating them into social governance, we can promote high-quality development and greater openness.”
Jiang Tao, co-founder and senior vice president of AI giant iFLYTEK, emphasized the opportunities and challenges that AI presents to public relations and social governance. “Leveraging the new generation of AI technology can enhance the efficiency, collaboration, and transparency of social governance,” Jiang said. “This will continuously improve people’s overall sense of well-being.”
Wang Yiming, vice chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, pointed to the rapid development of technologies like AI and “5G+ industrial Internet” as transformative forces. “These advancements are accelerating development and giving rise to new industries such as intelligent and service-oriented manufacturing,” Wang noted. “We must cultivate the digital economy, strategically plan for future industries, and integrate digital intelligent technology to modernize traditional industries and infrastructure.”
The conference, hosted by the CPRA, also featured the release of outstanding public relations cases and demonstration projects for 2024, showcasing innovative approaches to social governance.
