The Liaoning Flying Leopards secured a thrilling 98-97 victory over the Guangzhou Loong Lions on Thursday, handing Guangzhou their sixth consecutive defeat in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

The game was intense from the start, with Tyshaun Crawford, assisted by Sun Xingliang, narrowing Guangzhou’s deficit to four points. A turnover by Wang Lanqin allowed Crawford to find Davion Warren, who drove in to put Guangzhou ahead by three. In a tight fourth quarter, Li Xiangbo’s spectacular dunk pushed Guangzhou’s lead to 74-71.

William Douglas dished an assist to Li for a corner three-pointer, extending Guangzhou’s advantage to six points. However, Liaoning’s Dez Wells was unstoppable, drilling a three-pointer on his way to a game-high 31 points. Despite Guangzhou regaining a one-point lead after Jiao Boqiao’s rebound and lay-up, two clutch free throws from Han Dejun clinched the win for the three-time defending champions, Liaoning.

Guangsha Lions Dominate Sichuan Blue Wales

In another exciting matchup, the Guangsha Lions overpowered the Sichuan Blue Wales with a 108-83 victory. Sun Minghui knocked down a three-pointer in the second quarter, giving Guangsha a nine-point lead. Barry Brown connected with Zhu Junlong for a lay-up, pushing the lead to double digits.

Brown was in top form, draining a triple and finishing with a game-high 23 points. Guangsha showcased a balanced attack, with six players scoring in double digits, sealing a comfortable win over Sichuan.

The Nanjing Monkey Kings defeated the Jilin Northeast Tigers 106-85. Nanjing’s Li Wei delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a game-high 28 points, leading his team to a decisive victory.
