Chinese President Xi Jinping met with outstanding retired officials in Beijing on Tuesday, honoring their contributions and calling on them to continue supporting China’s development. The meeting took place at the Great Hall of the People, where Xi congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to uphold the nation’s traditions and political integrity.
“Your dedication has been instrumental in China’s progress,” Xi told the retirees. “I urge you to keep contributing to our nation’s strength and the rejuvenation of our people through Chinese modernization.”
High-ranking officials, including Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, also attended the event. Li Ganjie, head of the CPC Central Committee’s Organization Department, was present as well.
The meeting followed a ceremony on Monday where 150 groups and 450 individuals were recognized for their exemplary service. Li addressed the ceremony, praising the honorees for their commitment and urging them to remain active in supporting China’s goals.
