China’s Top Advisor Meets Peru’s Congress President to Boost Ties

China’s top political advisor, Wang Huning, met with Eduardo Salhuana, President of the Congress of Peru, in Beijing on Monday. The meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two nations and explore new avenues for cooperation.

Wang, who serves as the chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, expressed China’s willingness to work closely with Peru to achieve greater outcomes in their bilateral relations. He highlighted the importance of bringing tangible benefits to both Chinese and Peruvian people.

Emphasizing the role of the CPPCC, Wang stated that the committee is prepared to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Peru. This collaboration aims to contribute to the shared journey of national modernization for both countries.

Eduardo Salhuana reciprocated the sentiment, stating that Peru is eager to collaborate with China across various fields. He highlighted the joint development of the Chancay Port as a key project and expressed interest in deepening cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Salhuana also noted that the Peruvian Congress is keen to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with China, aiming to promote mutual understanding and friendship across all sectors of society in both countries.

The meeting signifies a step forward in China-Peru relations, with both nations committed to working together for common development and prosperity.
