According to local reports, the chain-reaction crash was likely caused by black ice—a thin, nearly invisible layer of ice formed when melting snow refreezes on the road surface. The slippery conditions caught drivers off guard, leading to multiple collisions over a 3-kilometer stretch of the highway.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, with police and firefighters working together to control traffic and clear the wreckage. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The pileup caused significant traffic congestion during the morning rush hour.
