WHO Regrets U.S. Decision to Withdraw from Organization

The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed regret over the United States’ decision to withdraw from the global health agency. On Tuesday, WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic emphasized the importance of unity during a press briefing in Geneva.

“We hope that the United States will reconsider,” Jasarevic said. “We really hope that there will be constructive dialogue for the benefit of everyone, for Americans but also for people around the world.”

The U.S., which has been one of the largest contributors to the WHO, announced its intention to leave the organization amidst the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision has raised concerns about international cooperation in addressing health crises.

Health experts warn that the absence of the U.S. could hinder global efforts to combat diseases and manage health emergencies. The WHO continues to advocate for collaboration among nations to ensure a coordinated response to health challenges.
