At the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, China’s Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang delivered a powerful speech calling for global cooperation and inclusive development. He emphasized the importance of promoting a universally beneficial economic globalization and upholding true multilateralism.
Highlighting the challenges the world faces, Ding urged nations to jointly foster new drivers for global economic growth. “We should seize and make the most of these opportunities to enhance connectivity in the digital age,” he said, emphasizing the potential of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and biomedicine.
Ding reiterated China’s commitment to green and low-carbon development, noting the nation’s efforts in renewable energy and environmental protection. He encouraged international collaboration to tackle major global issues such as climate change, food security, and energy security.
On the topic of economic reform, Ding assured that China will continue to deepen its reform and opening up, providing equal opportunities for foreign enterprises. “China’s door of opening up will not be closed and will only open even wider,” he stated.
Concluding his speech, Ding called for solidarity and cooperation to build a better future. “Let’s start again from Davos, uphold the right path of multilateralism, promote open and inclusive development, and jointly usher in a better future,” he said.
