Trump Signals Willingness to Improve Ties with China at Davos

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed optimism about the future of U.S.-China relations during his virtual address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday.

“We look forward to doing very well with China and getting along with China,” Trump stated, emphasizing the potential for a “very good relationship” between the leaders of the two nations.

Addressing the situation in Ukraine, Trump acknowledged China’s role and expressed hope for cooperation. “Hopefully, we could work together and get that conflict stopped,” he said, suggesting a collaborative approach to global issues.

In his message to global business leaders, Trump promised some of the lowest taxes for companies that bring manufacturing back to the United States. However, he cautioned that tariffs would remain for those who choose not to relocate their operations.

Trump also voiced concerns over rising oil prices, announcing plans to ask Saudi Arabia and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to lower costs, aiming to ease the economic burden on consumers worldwide.
