China Pledges Stronger Ties with Pakistan in Regional Diplomacy

At a high-level meeting in New York on Tuesday, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s commitment to prioritizing its relationship with Pakistan in regional diplomacy. Wang met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the United Nations headquarters, emphasizing the importance of their strategic partnership.

“China places its relations with Pakistan as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and will continue to uphold justice and speak out for Pakistan in international forums,” Wang said.

He highlighted China’s dedication to aligning development strategies with Pakistan, particularly in agricultural modernization and industrialization. “We are committed to helping Pakistan enhance its independent development capabilities,” Wang added.

Safety concerns were also addressed, with Wang expressing hope that Pakistan will implement effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions operating within the country.

In response, Dar assured that Pakistan attaches great importance to the safety of Chinese institutions and personnel. “We will fully ensure the security of Chinese investments and individuals in Pakistan,” he said.

Dar also expressed appreciation for China’s leadership on the global stage. “Pakistan appreciates China’s leadership in the global agenda and will continue to closely cooperate and support China,” he added.

The meeting underscores the longstanding friendship between the two nations and signals a deepening of ties in various sectors, including agriculture and industry.
