In a heartfelt gesture, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended warm greetings and best wishes to women across the nation ahead of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8.

On Thursday, during a joint group meeting at the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), President Xi recognized the invaluable contributions of women from all ethnic groups and walks of life. He emphasized their vital role in the country’s development and progress.

President Xi, also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for women to thrive. He called for continued efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in all sectors of society.

International Women’s Day is a global celebration honoring the achievements of women and advocating for gender parity. President Xi’s acknowledgment underscores China’s commitment to supporting women’s rights and contributions nationwide.
