China’s high-level opening up is creating fresh opportunities for Qatar, with leaders from both nations emphasizing the importance of enhanced cooperation for mutual benefit. At the “China in Springtime: Sharing Opportunities with the World Global Dialogue” event held in Doha on Wednesday, attendees highlighted the deepening ties between the two countries.
In a video address, Shen Haixiong, President of China Media Group (CMG), underscored the interconnectedness of China’s development with the world. “Global prosperity needs China just as China’s development is deeply intertwined with the world,” he said. Shen, who also serves as deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stressed that facing global challenges requires collective effort. “Instead of operating in isolation, countries should embrace openness and collaboration; rather than seeking ‘decoupling,’ it’s better to pursue win-win cooperation,” he added.
Chinese Ambassador to Qatar Cao Xiaolin affirmed China’s commitment to promoting global common development. “China will continue to serve as a constructive force, expand high-level opening up, and share the vast opportunities of Chinese modernization with other countries,” he said. Cao noted that under the strategic guidance of leaders from both nations, China and Qatar have entered a “golden era” over the past decade. “Mutual political trust has deepened, practical cooperation has grown closer, and cultural exchanges have become increasingly vibrant, bringing tangible benefits to our peoples,” he added.
Thair Al Anani, director of the Business Department of Qatar Media City, highlighted the pivotal role of media in today’s digital era. “The media has become even more prominent, playing a significant part in promoting global common development,” he said. As the strategic partnership between Qatar and China continues to deepen, Al Anani called on media organizations from both countries to strengthen ties. “We should enhance cooperation, working together to build a future of shared prosperity and mutual support,” he emphasized.
Bachar Chebaro, secretary-general of the Arab Publishers Association, spoke about the expanding scope of Qatar-China relations. “Our relations have achieved leapfrog development, reaching new heights as a strategic partnership in recent years,” he said. From economic and trade cooperation to cultural exchanges, Chebaro noted that bilateral collaboration continues to grow. “Cooperation in the cultural field has provided a solid foundation of mutual trust for consolidating political relations and has injected lasting momentum into strengthening the bonds between our peoples,” he added.
The event in Doha showcased the commitment of both nations to deepen their partnership, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in facing global challenges and achieving shared prosperity.
