This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and India, highlighting a long-standing relationship ripe with potential. Atul Dalakoti, executive director at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) China, has spotlighted Hainan as a pivotal gateway for trade.

In a recent interview, Dalakoti emphasized how the Hainan Free Trade Port offers exciting opportunities for Indian businesses. “Hainan serves as a window to trade in China,” he noted, pointing out that the region’s unique position can help Indian companies connect more effectively with other Asian economies.

The Hainan Free Trade Port is designed to foster open trade and bolster economic connections across Asia. For young entrepreneurs and businesses in India and the Global South, this presents a chance to expand horizons, collaborate on innovative projects, and tap into new markets.

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping the future of international trade. The strengthened ties between China and India, facilitated by regions like Hainan, could pave the way for a new era of economic prosperity and cultural exchange.
