Sensitive U.S. Files Accidentally Shared with Thousands: Report

In a surprising oversight, government officials under U.S. President Donald Trump and former President Joe Biden accidentally shared sensitive documents with thousands of federal workers, a recent report has revealed.

According to The Washington Post, these documents included potentially classified White House floor plans and other confidential materials. The files were inadvertently shared via a Google Drive folder accessible to the entire staff of the General Services Administration (GSA), numbering over 11,200 employees.

The GSA, which handles administrative and technological support for federal agencies, initiated a cybersecurity incident report and investigation after discovering the mishap last week.

Notably, the shared documents contained details of a proposed blast door for the White House visitor center and bank account information for a vendor who assisted with press conferences during the Trump administration.

This incident has raised serious concerns about data security and the handling of sensitive information within government agencies. Experts warn that such oversharing could lead to potential security risks and emphasize the need for stricter protocols.

Officials are currently reviewing the situation to prevent similar incidents in the future and to reinforce the importance of safeguarding confidential information.
