China and Us Not Engaged in Tariff Negotiations Chinese Embassy

Chinese Embassy Denies Tariff Talks with U.S.

Washington D.C. — The Chinese Embassy in the United States has denied reports of ongoing tariff negotiations between China and the U.S. On Friday, a spokesperson for the embassy dismissed statements by U.S. officials claiming that discussions were taking place.

“As far as I know, there have been no consultations or negotiations between China and the U.S. on the issue of tariffs, let alone any agreement being reached,” the spokesperson said in response to media inquiries.

The spokesperson emphasized that the trade disputes were initiated unilaterally by the U.S., stating, “Whoever caused the knot should be the one to untie it.” This highlights China’s stance that the responsibility for resolving the tariff issues lies with the United States.

Tensions between the world’s two largest economies have escalated due to trade disputes and tariffs imposed by both sides. The denial of ongoing negotiations suggests that a resolution may not be imminent.

Young people around the world, especially in developing countries, are closely watching these developments, as the outcome can have global economic implications.
