China has expressed its readiness to collaborate with Australia’s newly re-elected government under Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to strengthen bilateral ties. On Saturday, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry congratulated Albanese and his center-left Labor Party on securing a second term in Australia’s federal election.
The spokesperson emphasized the importance of building a more mature, stable, and fruitful comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia. “We hope to work together to promote the development of relations between our two countries for the benefit of both peoples,” the spokesperson said.
China also called on both nations to contribute positively to peace and stability in the region and the world. The spokesperson highlighted the need for both sides to use the consensus of their leaders as a guiding principle in enhancing cooperation.
