Singapore’s Ruling Party Secures 14th Consecutive Election Win
Singapore’s ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) has won its 14th successive general election, securing 65.57% of the popular vote, an increase from 61.24% in the previous election. The party captured 87 out of 97 parliamentary seats, reinforcing its six-decade-long governance of the city-state.

The opposition Workers’ Party retained its 10 seats, holding on to its constituencies in eastern Singapore. No other opposition parties gained seats in this election.

Trash bins had been removed from many public spaces in Japan over safety concerns following past incidents. While some private establishments provide disposal options, many visitors find themselves carrying trash back to their accommodations. In response to increased littering, Nara Park, one of Japan’s oldest parks, installed public trash cans for the first time in 40 years to accommodate the growing number of tourists.
