China has introduced new regulations for eco-environmental protection inspections, updating the previous version from 2019. The regulations, issued by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, aim to make environmental inspections a key tool in identifying and addressing ecological issues.
The focus is on promoting high-quality development through enhanced environmental protection. According to the regulations, there’s a need to deepen reforms in the ecological civilization system and advance the modernization of eco-environment governance and its capabilities.
Inspection efforts will concentrate on critical areas such as progress in pollution control, transitioning to greener development models, ecological protection and restoration, and initiatives supporting carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
China has been steadfast in advancing its “Beautiful China” initiative, emphasizing eco-environmental protection as a top priority in its social and economic development. These new regulations mark a significant step toward achieving a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
