Beijing—China and France have vowed to strengthen cooperation to promote an open and collaborative international trade environment. On Thursday, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with Eric Lombard, representing the French side, to co-chair the 10th China-France High-Level Economic and Financial Dialogue.
During the meeting, He Lifeng highlighted the importance of implementing the agreements reached by the two nations’ leaders on deepening bilateral relations. He emphasized China’s readiness to work with France to enhance coordination on multilateral international affairs, enrich economic and financial cooperation, and create a favorable trade and investment environment. “We aim to inject new vitality into the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership and lead China-Europe cooperation toward new development,” He said.
Eric Lombard underscored France’s commitment to its relationship with China. “France attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to work together to address global challenges like climate change,” Lombard stated. He also expressed France’s intention to uphold multilateralism and trade freedom, provide high-quality products for Chinese consumers, and foster a better business environment to attract more Chinese enterprises.
The dialogue resulted in the signing of bilateral cooperation documents on topics including poultry meat, breeding poultry, and breeding eggs. Both leaders also addressed a symposium attended by Chinese and French entrepreneurs. During his visit, He Lifeng toured French family farms and met with representatives from various sectors such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and aviation.
