China Extends Visa-Free Travel to Five Latin American Countries

China has announced that starting June 1, 2025, citizens of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay will be able to visit China without obtaining a visa. The trial period for this new policy will last until May 31, 2026.

This exciting development means that travelers from these five Latin American nations can enter China visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. The policy applies to those visiting for business, tourism, family or friend visits, exchange programs, or transiting through China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian shared the news during a regular press briefing on Thursday. “We welcome more foreign friends to make good use of China’s visa-free and visa facilitation policies to visit China more often,” Lin said.

Lin emphasized that China is committed to opening up and will introduce more measures to facilitate personal exchanges with other countries. This move is expected to strengthen ties between China and Latin America, promoting cultural exchange and economic cooperation.

For young travelers eager to explore China’s rich history and vibrant cities, this policy offers a fantastic opportunity. From the Great Wall to the bustling streets of Shanghai, China awaits with open arms.
