Early Friday morning, a powerful mountain torrent and mudslide struck a village in Longsheng County, Guilin City, in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, leaving eight people missing, according to preliminary assessments by local authorities.
The sudden disaster damaged ten houses, and rescue teams are currently searching for the missing individuals. Local residents described the scene as chaotic, with mud and debris overwhelming the area.
