China’s Education Minister and special envoy, Huai Jinpeng, attended the inauguration ceremony of Ecuador’s new president, Daniel Noboa, in Quito on Saturday.
During a meeting at the presidential palace on Friday, Huai conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings and best wishes to President Noboa. He emphasized the strong friendship between China and Ecuador, noting that their diplomatic ties have flourished over the past 45 years with fruitful cooperation in various fields.
“China views its relationship with Ecuador from a strategic and long-term perspective,” Huai stated. “We are ready to work together to implement the important consensus reached by our two heads of state and promote our comprehensive strategic partnership for more tangible outcomes to benefit our peoples.”
President Noboa expressed his gratitude to President Xi for sending a special envoy and asked Huai to convey his cordial greetings. He reaffirmed Ecuador’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and expressed eagerness to expand practical cooperation with China across more sectors.
“We look forward to deepening our comprehensive strategic partnership with China,” Noboa said. “Together, we can achieve greater development and prosperity for our nations.”
