Savoring Global Flavors: A Youthful Journey at the China-CEEC Expo

Ningbo, China—The aroma of sizzling delicacies and the buzz of excited chatter filled the air as thousands gathered at the 4th China-CEEC Expo and International Consumer Goods Fair. Among the crowd was Bulgarian youth Betizhe Osmanova Akova, embarking on a culinary journey that transcended borders and brought together flavors from around the world.

The expo, which concluded on May 25 in east China’s Zhejiang Province, attracted nearly 1,500 domestic and international enterprises. As a vibrant port city along the Maritime Silk Road, Ningbo became a melting pot of cultures, showcasing impressive achievements in economic cooperation and cultural exchange.

At the heart of the event was the “A Taste of Zhejiang and CEEC – Culinary Cultural Exchange,” where Betizhe navigated through bustling stalls brimming with colorful dishes. From savory European pastries to traditional Chinese snacks, she sampled an array of delicacies, each bite telling a story of its homeland.

“It’s incredible to see so many different cultures represented in one place,” Betizhe shared with a smile. “Tasting these foods makes me feel connected to people from all over the world.”

The expo not only offered a feast for the taste buds but also fostered connections among youths from different countries. Through shared experiences and mutual appreciation of global cuisines, attendees like Betizhe found common ground and built lasting friendships.
