Brunei’s Sultan Resting in Kuala Lumpur Hospital After Feeling Tired

Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah is currently resting in a hospital in Kuala Lumpur after feeling tired during a summit with Southeast Asian leaders. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim confirmed the news on Tuesday.

During a press conference, Prime Minister Anwar responded to queries about the sultan’s health. “The sultan is feeling a bit tired, so he’s resting at the National Heart Institute,” he said, reassuring that there’s no cause for concern.

The sultan was attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders’ summit when he reportedly felt unwell. Known for being one of the world’s longest-reigning monarchs, his well-being is closely followed by many.

Anwar emphasized that the sultan’s condition is not serious and that he’s expected to recover quickly. The National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur is a renowned medical facility specializing in cardiac care.

The ASEAN summit brings together leaders from Southeast Asia to discuss regional issues and cooperation. The sultan’s participation highlights Brunei’s active role in regional affairs.
