Kremlin Slams Europes Decision to Lift Missile Range Limits for Kiev

Kremlin Warns Against Europe’s Potential Lifting of Missile Range Limits for Ukraine

The Kremlin has voiced strong criticism over reports of European countries potentially lifting range restrictions on missiles supplied to Ukraine, labeling such moves as “dangerous.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed concerns on Monday, stating that any decisions to extend the range of weapons provided to Ukraine would “absolutely run counter to our aspirations to reach a political settlement and the efforts currently being made within the framework of the settlement.”

While specific details have not been confirmed, discussions among Ukraine’s allies about increasing military support have been ongoing. The possibility of supplying longer-range missiles could significantly impact the dynamics of the conflict, allowing Ukraine to target facilities deeper within Russian territory.

Previous attempts at peace talks between Russia and Ukraine have not yielded a ceasefire agreement. Direct negotiations held in Istanbul earlier failed to produce significant progress, and no further talks have been scheduled. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated recently that Moscow is willing to work with Ukraine on a “memorandum” outlining the framework for “a possible future peace treaty.”

Putin emphasized the need for compromises acceptable to both sides, stating that Moscow and Kyiv must find common ground to resolve the ongoing conflict.
