The Traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Race has officially begun in Tongren, located in southwest China’s Guizhou Province, on Friday, just a day before the annual Dragon Boat Festival. The event has drawn 60 teams from across the country, all eager to compete and celebrate this cherished tradition.
Participants are set to showcase their skills in four thrilling events: men’s and women’s traditional style, and men’s and women’s freestyle races. Each race spans a straight 500-meter course, demanding both strength and teamwork from the crews.
Following the preliminary rounds, 24 teams have advanced to the semifinals scheduled for Saturday morning. The competition will culminate with the championship finals later in the day, promising an exciting conclusion as teams paddle fiercely for victory.
