Young Filmmakers Shine in China’s Eco-Film Festival Ahead of Awards Night

Environmental films created by college students from across the Chinese mainland were recently showcased at Beijing Normal University’s Zhuhai campus, highlighting a new generation’s dedication to sustainability.

Selected from over 280 submissions for the Refound Project at the 32nd College Student Film Festival, these short films aim to raise public awareness about environmental protection.

The winners, to be announced on June 10 during the festival’s Original Creation Night, will compete in categories such as Most Creative Work, Greatest Innovation Potential, and Best Welfare Documentary.

The Refound Project serves as a bridge between young filmmakers and environmental causes, fostering innovative storytelling around sustainability.

Last year’s standout film, “Guranay,” gained international attention when it was screened alongside the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.

The Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology Conservation (SEE) collaborates on this initiative, encouraging young creatives worldwide to share compelling environmental stories through dynamic visual language.

As World Environment Day approaches, these young filmmakers are amplifying the message of sustainability, inspiring global audiences to take action for the planet.
