South Korean students are expressing growing concerns over recent U.S. student visa policies that they say are creating hurdles in pursuing their academic dreams abroad.
Amid changing international relations and evolving immigration rules, many aspiring scholars from the Republic of Korea feel uncertain about their future educational prospects in the United States.
Among them is 19-year-old university student, Yoon-ji, who has long dreamed of studying at an Ivy League institution. "I always saw America as a place full of opportunities," she said. "But now, the visa process feels more complicated and uncertain than ever before."
Recent policy adjustments and administrative delays have left students like her in limbo, questioning whether their plans to study in the U.S. will materialize.
These obstacles not only affect their education but also dampen their enthusiasm and trust in the U.S. as a welcoming destination for international scholars.
"I hope the U.S. government realizes how important international students are," said Yoon-ji. "We contribute to diversity and bring new perspectives. I wish they would address these issues seriously."
Despite the uncertainties, many South Korean students remain optimistic, holding onto their aspirations while calling for clearer and more supportive policies that facilitate global education and exchange.
