China Holds Key to Italian Business Future, Says Chamber Chair

As global economic uncertainties loom, Italian businesses are setting their sights on China for future growth opportunities. Lorenzo Riccardi, chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, shared his insights on why China remains a vital partner for Italy’s economic prospects.

“The future is in Beijing, not D.C.,” Riccardi emphasized during an interview with CGTN reporter Wang Tianyu. He highlighted that China has long been Italy’s largest trading partner in Asia, and the relationship continues to flourish.

Riccardi pointed out that China’s robust market and steady economic development present significant opportunities for Italian enterprises. “China’s commitment to opening up and fostering international trade makes it an attractive destination for Italian investors,” he said.

Amid global challenges, such as supply chain disruptions and shifting trade policies, Italian businesses are keen on strengthening ties with China. Riccardi believes that collaboration in sectors like technology, manufacturing, and sustainability can lead to mutual benefits.

He encouraged young entrepreneurs and businesses in Italy to explore China’s dynamic market. “Understanding China’s culture and business environment is essential. It’s not just about trade; it’s about building long-term partnerships,” Riccardi added.

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce plays a pivotal role in facilitating these connections, providing support and resources to Italian companies operating in China.

As the world navigates through economic uncertainties, Riccardi’s message is clear: embracing opportunities in China could be a strategic move for Italy’s future.
