Tehran, Iran — Iran has unveiled its first domestically developed hypersonic missile, dubbed the "Fattah", marking a significant leap in the nation’s military capabilities. The missile was showcased during a ceremony attended by President Ebrahim Raisi and top Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officials.
The Fattah, which means "Conqueror" in Farsi, is reported to have a range of up to 1,400 kilometers and the ability to bypass advanced air defense systems. Hypersonic missiles travel at speeds exceeding five times the speed of sound and can maneuver mid-flight, making them difficult to detect and intercept.
General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the IRGC’s aerospace force, stated that the missile could penetrate all defense shields, adding, "There is no system that can rival or counter this missile."
