Alcaraz Advances to Queen’s Club Final to Face Lehecka

Carlos Alcaraz of Spain advanced to the Queen’s Club final on Saturday, securing a 6-4, 6-4 victory over compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut. The World No.2 showcased his exceptional form in the sweltering London heat, setting up a championship clash with the Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka.

Alcaraz, 20, extended his winning streak, displaying a powerful performance with 36 winners and 15 aces, wrapping up the semifinal in just 90 minutes. “I’m playing great tennis. After every match, I’m feeling more comfortable,” Alcaraz said. “Making the final here is so special once again.”

Lehecka, ranked World No.30, earned his spot in the final after an exciting 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win over British hopeful Jack Draper. The upcoming final promises to be a thrilling encounter between the rising stars.

Alcaraz is vying for his first Queen’s Club title, aiming to follow in the footsteps of fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, who won the tournament twice, in 2017 and 2019. Victory would also bolster Alcaraz’s preparation for Wimbledon, as he continues to adapt his clay-court prowess to grass.

“I love making the crowds enjoy watching my games. Whenever I put a smile on my face, I play my best tennis,” Alcaraz shared. “I try to have fun and bring joy on the court. That is why I’m making good results.”

In the match against Bautista Agut, Alcaraz seized control early, breaking serve in the third game with a deft drop shot. He maintained his lead to take the first set and delivered a crucial break in the second set with a blistering forehand down the line.

The young Spaniard closed out the match confidently, much to the delight of fans waving Spanish flags. All eyes are now on the final, where Alcaraz will attempt to claim the Queen’s Club trophy and send a strong message ahead of the upcoming Grand Slam at Wimbledon.
