China and Italy came together in Rome this week to celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations with a vibrant cultural exchange event hosted by China Media Group (CMG).
Attended by over 200 guests from various sectors, the ceremony highlighted the enduring friendship between the two nations. Key figures included Shen Haixiong, CMG president and vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee; Giuseppe Valditara, Italian minister of education; Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian Football Federation; and Jia Guide, Chinese ambassador to Italy.
The event marked the launch of the 2025 Chinese Film Week, introducing nine outstanding Chinese films to Italian audiences. These films aim to showcase the richness of China’s cultural diversity and the vitality of its cinema.
In addition, CMG announced a joint documentary project with Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, focusing on stories in Italian sports and culture. This collaboration sets the stage for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics, where CMG will be the only global media organization producing 8K ultra-high-definition coverage.
CMG plans to roll out a series of premium programs to provide comprehensive coverage of the 2026 Winter Games, bringing the excitement of the event to viewers worldwide.
