The 2025 BRICS Seminar on Governance and Cultural Exchanges Forum kicked off on Monday in Rio de Janeiro, aiming to strengthen cooperation among BRICS nations to bring stability to a rapidly changing world.
The event gathered over 120 representatives from BRICS countries and international organizations, including China, Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Egypt, and Indonesia. Participants discussed how enhanced collaboration could address global challenges and promote shared development.
With the recent expansion of BRICS, the forum marked a new phase of \”Big BRICS cooperation,\” boosting the group’s representation and influence on the global stage. Attendees highlighted the importance of unity among BRICS nations in fostering stability and certainty amid global uncertainties.
Participants praised China’s active role in global development and governance, noting its contributions to advancing BRICS cooperation and promoting solidarity among countries of the Global South. They recognized China’s initiatives as key platforms for fostering progress in development, security, and cultural exchange.
The forum also featured a cultural-themed photo exhibition and saw the release of two reports on BRICS collaboration, highlighting areas for future cooperation.
The event was jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, China International Communications Group, and Brazil’s National Institute of Geography and Statistics.
