China and France Pledge to Boost Youth and Cultural Exchanges

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot in Paris on Friday to co-chair the 7th China-France High-Level Dialogue on People-to-People Exchanges. The two leaders agreed to strengthen cultural ties and enhance cooperation between the Chinese mainland and France.

Wang Yi highlighted the success of the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, noting that hundreds of events were held and over 6,000 French students visited China for study and exchange programs. He emphasized the importance of deepening youth exchanges, local collaboration, and innovation in education and culture.

“These vibrant exchanges showcase the dynamism of our relationship and deepen mutual understanding,” Wang Yi said. He called for continued efforts to build bridges between civilizations and contribute to a community with a shared future for humanity.

Jean-Noel Barrot praised the fruitful people-to-people exchanges between France and the Chinese mainland. “These interactions not only strengthen our bilateral relations but also help us address global challenges together,” he stated. Barrot expressed France’s commitment to fostering a close, high-quality, and sustainable partnership.

The meeting concluded with the issuance of a joint statement, signaling a renewed dedication to deepening ties and setting an example for global cultural exchanges.
