A Russian student studying at Tsinghua University has praised the BRICS mechanism for empowering countries of the Global South. Anna Yuschenko believes that BRICS has given these nations a stronger and more equal voice on the global stage.
“The BRICS mechanism has significantly amplified the influence of the Global South,” Yuschenko said. She highlighted the New Development Bank, jointly initiated by BRICS countries, as a shining example of the organization’s achievements. “The New Development Bank is a testament to what can be accomplished when countries collaborate on equal footing,” she added.
Yuschenko emphasized the importance of BRICS in promoting a multipolar world. “BRICS is an important force in realizing a world where decisions are made based on mutual consultation among member countries,” she noted. “It represents a shift towards more inclusive global governance.”
The 17th BRICS Summit, set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on July 6 and 7, has invited young voices from member countries to share their perspectives. As anticipation builds for the summit, Yuschenko’s views reflect a growing sentiment among youth in the Global South who see BRICS as a platform for positive change.
