Chinese Premier Li Qiang Urges Stronger Strategic Ties with Egypt

Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Cairo on Wednesday, calling for deeper strategic coordination between China and Egypt. As vital members of the Global South, Li emphasized the importance of uniting to safeguard common interests.

Invited by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, Premier Li highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two nations. “Since establishing diplomatic ties nearly 70 years ago, China and Egypt have been close friends who support each other and strategic partners with a shared future,” Li remarked.

He praised the flourishing relationship, noting increased political trust and fruitful cooperation. “Our collaboration sets an example for major developing countries to unite sincerely and achieve mutual benefit,” he added.

Premier Li expressed China’s readiness to deepen cooperation across various fields, aiming to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership. He believes this will inject strong momentum into both countries’ development and contribute positively to regional and global peace and stability.

Upon his arrival, Li was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Madbouly and senior government officials at the airport, where a formal ceremony was held in his honor. Before visiting Egypt, Li attended the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
