PSG Dominates Real Madrid 4-0 to Reach Club World Cup Final

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) delivered a stunning performance on Wednesday, dismantling Real Madrid 4-0 to secure their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea.

Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring in the sixth minute after capitalizing on a defensive error by Raul Asencio. Just three minutes later, Ousmane Dembélé doubled the lead, seizing upon another miscue from Antonio Rüdiger before slotting the ball past Thibaut Courtois.

PSG continued their relentless attack, making it 3-0 within the first 24 minutes. A swift counterattack saw Achraf Hakimi combine with Dembélé, leading to Ruiz’s second goal of the night as he navigated past Federico Valverde’s challenge and fired home from close range.

The French champions dominated possession, holding the ball 76.5% of the first half, leaving the 15-time European champions struggling to find their footing. Real Madrid’s star forward, Kylian Mbappé, faced his former club but was largely contained throughout the match.

In the 64th minute, Luka Modrić entered the fray in what could be his final appearance for Real Madrid after a storied tenure since 2012. Éder Militão also made his return, playing his first match since recovering from a torn ACL suffered on November 9, 2024.

PSG sealed their emphatic victory when Gonçalo Ramos added a fourth goal in the 87th minute, further emphasizing their dominance and setting the stage for a highly anticipated final against Chelsea on Sunday.

Real Madrid’s defense was noticeably weakened, missing Dean Huijsen, who received a red card in their previous match against Borussia Dortmund, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, sidelined due to right leg muscle discomfort.

PSG, fresh off their first European title, now eyes the Club World Cup trophy, poised to cap off an already remarkable season.
