International Cooperation Vital for Cultural Heritage Protection, Says Chinese Expert
Experts from around the world gathered in Beijing on Friday for a sub-forum titled “Inter-Civilization Exchanges and Mutual Learning: Cultural Inheritance and Innovation.” Part of the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, the event fostered discussions on implementing the Global Civilization Initiative.
Liu Yuzhu, chairman of the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation, highlighted the challenges in China’s cultural heritage conservation efforts. He emphasized that strengthening international cooperation is crucial for the holistic protection of cultural heritage.
“Cultural heritage is not just a national treasure; it belongs to all humanity,” Liu stated. “By collaborating globally, we can better preserve and appreciate the rich histories and traditions that define our civilizations.”
Participants from China and abroad engaged in meaningful dialogues, sharing insights on safeguarding cultural legacies while fostering innovation. The discussions underscored the importance of mutual learning and exchange between different cultures.
The Global Civilization Initiative aims to promote understanding and collaboration among nations in preserving cultural diversity. As young people around the world become increasingly interconnected, such efforts are key to nurturing a global community that respects and celebrates cultural heritage.
