China has emerged as the world’s leading supplier of renewable energy products. According to organizers of the “Charting the Green Horizon” event at the expo, the country produces a staggering 80% of the world’s photovoltaic modules and 70% of key components for wind power. This dominance underscores China’s commitment to building the largest and fastest-growing clean energy system globally.
Beyond solar and wind, China also ranks among the top producers of hydropower, nuclear power, and power transmission equipment. These advancements highlight the nation’s comprehensive approach to diversifying its energy mix and reducing carbon emissions.
Latest data from the National Energy Administration reveals that by the end of May 2025, China’s total installed power generation capacity reached 3.61 billion kilowatts—an impressive 18.8% increase compared to the previous year. This growth signifies China’s accelerating pace in embracing renewable energy and its influence on global energy markets.
