China and Pakistan Strengthen Ties as Leaders Meet in Beijing

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir in Beijing on Friday, reinforcing the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations.

During the meeting, Han Zheng expressed that China and Pakistan are close friends and reliable strategic partners. “Our relationship is characterized by high-level mutual trust, resilience through challenges, and a shared future,” Han said.

He emphasized China’s willingness to work with Pakistan to implement the important agreements reached by their leaders, deepen their enduring friendship, expand comprehensive cooperation, and accelerate building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

General Asim Munir acknowledged the strong ties between the two countries, noting that developing friendly cooperation with China is a consensus across Pakistani society. “Pakistan supports China’s three global initiatives and firmly stands with China,” Munir stated.

The Pakistani military is ready to further implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and continuously strengthen the all-weather strategic partnership with China, he added.

This meeting highlights the mutual commitment to enhancing diplomatic and military ties, promoting regional stability, and fostering economic development through collaborative efforts.
