Macao has showcased remarkable growth under the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ framework, according to leading experts. Richard Weixing Hu, distinguished professor and dean at the University of Macao’s Faculty of Social Sciences, and Lu Gang, co-founder of Beyond Expo, recently shared their insights on the region’s progress.
Hu emphasized that the framework has allowed Macao to maintain its unique identity while benefiting from China’s rapid development. “Macao has effectively balanced local governance with national support, leading to advancements in various sectors,” he stated.
Lu Gang discussed the importance of integrating into the Greater Bay Area, a regional initiative aimed at enhancing cooperation between Macao and neighboring cities. “By embracing this opportunity, Macao can pursue sustainable growth and diversify its economy beyond gaming and tourism,” he said.
